1 x General Practice Academic Clinical Fellowship - EXETER

Applications are invited for a locally funded Academic Clinical Fellow (ACF) in General Practice at ST1 / ST2 level within Health Education South West – Peninsula. The training post is jointly run with the Exeter Collaboration for Academic Primary Care (APEx) at Exeter University. The post is based in Exeter and the start date is 07th August 2019.

APEx has several associated research groups, and provides opportunities for involvement in research across a wide range of subject areas and methodologies. Clinical areas include care for people with multimorbidity, quality and safety of care (including patient experience and access to care), use of patient reported information (PROMs) in clinical practice, diagnostics (including early diagnosis of cancer), elderly care, mental health, diabetes and self-care support. Methodological expertise includes: questionnaire design and analysis, qualitative interview and ethnographic studies, behavioural science, randomised controlled trials, analysis of large datasets and scientific literature based secondary research. Further opportunities are available within the wider health services research groupings in the medical school.

Eligibility Criteria:

 Applicants should already hold a NTN in General Practice or should reach the threshold of appointability at the General Practice national standard clinical assessment taking place in February 2019.

 Health Education England (HEE) is responsible for the sponsorship of Medical and Dental trainees for their Tier 2 visa application in England.
