Health Education England - South West has vacancies in Core Medical Training (CMT) and ACCS Acute Medicine at Specialty Training Level CT1.

There are currently *55 posts available in CMT in Severn and 51 in the Peninsula.  There are also *5 posts available in ACCS Acute Medicine in Severn and 2 in the Peninsula.

All posts commence in August 2018.

Applications are to be made through Oriel.  Please refer to 'Resources' to access further information including access to Oriel and JRCPTB CT1 recruitment page.  Recruitment in this round will be managed by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP), who will coordinate all long/shortlisting of applications and make offers on behalf of all regions.  HESW are an interview centre, dates scheduled;

  • Bristol interviews         1st and 2nd February 2018 at Deanery House, Hambrook, Bristol, BS16 1GW, Sat Nav use BS34 6PT
  • Plymouth interviews      7th , 8th  and 9th 2018 February at PPGME - Raleigh Building, Plymouth Science Park, Plymouth PL6 8BY  

Successful completion of this programme will lead to meeting the competence requirements for higher training at ST3 level in the majority of medical specialties.

The application window opens on Wednesday 8th November 2017 at 10.00am (UK time) and closes on Thursday 30th November 2017 at 4.00pm (UK time). You will not be able to submit your application after this time. Please ensure that you have completed all the relevant sections of the application form as missing information will deem your application incomplete and it will not be considered.

It is stipulated in the person specification that certain criteria must be completed by the ‘intended start date’. In this round this date is 1 August 2018. If you are not able to complete the outstanding area by this date your application will not be able to progress.

Candidates will not need to give preferences of particular regions or posts at the time of application. Those candidates who subsequently progress to interview will be invited to give preferences in mid to late-February.  Following the interviews all scores will be compiled into one list of ranked candidates and a matching process will take place.   The successful candidates will be offered their highest ranked preference available.
