Overview:
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a widely utilised psychological practice to support people to change, focusing especially on those less ready. This introductory and interactive session focuses on the method and offers participants the opportunity to consider their own current practice. The session will introduce some of the skills that underpin the method. This short session precedes the full skilled MI training 2- day workshop

- Working with readiness to change
- The Spirit of the MI method
- Introduction to some of the core OARS listening skills

Audience:
Associate Dean Secondary Care, Associate DME, College/Specialty Tutor, Deputy Dean, DME, Educational/Clinical Supervisor Secondary Care, Dental Educational/Clinical Supervisor, HoS, SAS Doctor (Associate Specialist, Specialist, Speciality Doctor, Staff Grade, Tutor), TPD Secondary Care or Public Health Supervisor
